A Belated Merry Christmas!

I haven’t done much work on the site recently due to all the Christmas festivities and last minute gift shopping! I just thought I’d give you a little update on how things are going. For the last week I have strayed from the Bikini Model Program a little bit! I am back on track now but just couldn’t maintain it with all the Christmas gatherings. I managed to eat fairly healthily on Christmas day. I mainly had salad for lunch but did eat my fair share of caramel slice and chocolate!

I thought maybe some of you out there had also had the same thing happen during the last week. Let’s just all forget it happened and move on? Ok! Sounds like a great plan!

If there is any chocolate/cakes/junk food left over from Christmas maybe you should remove it from the house. It’s just too tempting! We’ve probably all got our New Years Eve outfits picked out and three days of healthy eating will make the world of difference to how you look and feel on New Years!

Do you have any goals for 2011? I’d love to hear them!

Here are my goals (in no particular order)

  • Go to the gym at least 4 times a week (holidays excluded)
  • Swim with dolphins – I’ve had this goal for the past 5 years and its really not that unachievable. 2011 is the year!
  • Eat smaller portions of healthier food
  • Never feel ashamed/embarrassed about my body (because I’ll always be bikini ready)
  • Spend more time with my parents
  • Explore South East Asia for a month or more and not be afraid to try new things
  • Be more outgoing and confident
  • Don’t go to fast food restaurants as often
  • Have a closer relationship with my sisters
  • Get a dslr camera and learn how to use it!
  • Take better care of my hair and skin
  • Drink green tea!
  • See baby turtles hatching
  • Go on more beachwalks – appreciate nature
  • Walk my dogs more often
  • Take better care of my car! (it hasn’t been serviced in a while)
  • Drink more water
  • Try new recipes
  • Donate to charity

Here’s a photo of my little sister & myself taken on Christmas day

Yep I made the caramel slice. It was a hit!

What are YOUR goals? Leave them in the comment section!!!

also i took my dog for an hour power walk this morning. tomorrow i plan to do another walk and pilates, then on friday a spin class.
nothing crazy, i just get back into my routine.
i really need routine in my life!

I always try not to regret and think much if I ate chocolate/cake/junk food sometimes. My husband helps me when he sees I look sad just because of few chips or cake. He always says that I look so beautiful and thin, I can burn that calories very soon. His support makes me feel confident and ready for next-day-good-workout. He also always puts big glass of water on my desk to remind me drink it. So, eat moderately whatever you would like and enjoy time. Don’t forget to love your body and stay positive. Happy New Year!

Just writing out my shopping list to start the program after my Christmas and New Years indulgence and was wondering if anyone knows where in Brisbane (if at all) I can buy Dannon Light & Fit yoghurt smoothie and Vita Tops, Muffin Tops and Turkey Bacon. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Tash

Mel, I just stumbled on your website by accident and I think it’s really great, well done!! I liked your trials that you have done with the bikini model program, and all the things about celebrity diet secrets and thinspiration. You look fab too, keep up the great work! :D
I’m just starting on my weight loss program, I’m not following anything in particular but just what I’ve found all over the internet. I just haven’t been looking after myself the last couple of years and I decided that was gonna change, I need to prioritize my health and happiness more. So I’m going to try to lose 20kg (I know it sounds like a lot but I REALLY haven’t been looking after myself, and also I’m quite tall), just through healthy diet and exercise, I really like working out on the cross-trainer and I’m taking up yoga. Hopefully it’ll work! haha :D
Mel, how do you motivate yourself to workout regularly and to avoid temptation?

P.S. I spent a month travelling South East Asia not too long ago, it was amazing, you’re gonna love it! I recommend Thailand especially, shopping in Bangkok was incredible and Krabi in the south for the best beaches and friendly people!

Hi Charlotte, I’m glad you like the site!! :) Goodluck on your weight loss plan :) 20kg does sound like alot though, make sure you stay healthy! I try to be ‘The Best Melissa I can be’ and try to imagine my body in the future if i don’t workout lol.
Tell me about your trip!! Where else do you recommend? I’ve been to bangkok, Krabi is on the list! x

    Hi Mel

I forgot to mention my yoga book to you: Slim Calm Sexy Yoga by Tara Stiles. It is a very good book and helped me with my progress a lot. I do every day Fat Burning (page 152) and Metabolism Revving (page 154), takes only 30 minutes and gives really good results. :)

baby food diet sounds cool, Jennifer Aniston did that too.
I stop my sweet carvings with whole wheat pancakes with yogurt, fruit and dark chocolate on top. :)

Hi Mel! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you!

Since I’ve started watching what I eat (I haven’t been able to work out right now due to an injury I acquired over the holidays…slipped on some ice >.<), I have lost approximately 2.6 kgs so far over two weeks. Sometimes I feel hungry, and sometimes I'm frustrated with how slowly this weightloss is going, but the slower the better for maintenance purposes, right? I feel like I'm eating ok, and if I make one change at a time, everything will be great! I still have 14-15 kgs to go, but it will come off in time.

I actually have another question about the bikini model program, sorry. I'm thinking of buying it, even though with my hurt leg, I can't work out right now. But I'm also considering whether I should buy it this month or next month (I'm thinking I'll be better by next month, the doctor said this should take 3-6 weeks to heal and I need to try to stay off of my feet because putting weight on my foot is bad, so hopefully I'm better sooner!). Basically I'm wondering whether in the Bikini Model Program she gives you a very specific diet, such as buy this brand of low carb tortilla or is it just like buy some low carb tortillas? So I'm wondering how specific she is with the food and also whether she includes all recipes or you have to figure it out. If she's not too specific, I'll wait until I can work out again to buy the book. :)

Also–how many days a week do you do weights and how many days a week do you do cardio?

  12. Del January 6, 2011 at 1:15 am #

Hey Mel , Hows the bikini model plan coming along for you.

I just purchased the program the other day so I can lose 4 stubborn kilos :)

Are you sticking to this program for awhile?

  13. Mel January 8, 2011 at 3:25 pm #

It’s going alright, I’ve been a bit slack but getting back on track :D I’m planning to stick to the principles of the program forever! I can’t see myself gaining much weight back because I love what Jennifer Nicole Lee says in the book and have seen proof it works :) x

  14. Mel January 8, 2011 at 3:30 pm #

Hey Jen, thats horrible you injured yourself on the ice. Poor thing! Not the best way to spend christmas lol. Congrats on the 2.6kg weight loss! It’s true that the slower the better it is for maintenance too. Once you are recovered you should definitely give the bikini program a try. She does give you a diet but with heaps of options. You don’t have to buy certain brands really, just find the closest thing you can and you will still see results. Although she does recommend some specific things (e.g. protein powders). You’ll still see weight loss without exercise because they say 90% of weight loss is in nutrition alone and the other 10% is with exercise!
I do weights everytime I train and do cardio most sessions of the week but don’t fret if I miss out on the cardio. I miss 1 or 2 cardio days a week :)
