If you’re reading this then thankyou for coming to my website!
Allow me to introduce myself..
My name is Melissa and I’m a 25 year old Australian girl. I created this website six years ago and have been blogging regularly ever since!
The reason I started the website was because I loved reading the diet and exercise regimes of celebrities that sometimes were printed in the gossip magazines. I know alot of the time they just make up a generic sounding diet regime and claim that its what the model/actress does to lose weight. I thought it would be a great idea to research the work outs of popular celebrities and have them all in one place!
I also wanted to create a website that helps women lose weight the healthy way. I’ve seen proanorexia (proana) websites and probulimia (promia) websites and will admit that I too used to trawl through the pages looking for weight loss tips when I was feeling vulnerable or depressed about my weight as a teenager.
I’ve grown up a lot since then and want this website to be a happy and healthy weight loss website. I don’t approve comments that put others down or say hurtful things and I don’t post extreme diets or crazy starvation tips. If you are reading this and think you could suffer from an eating disorder you an get help here.
So here’s a little bit about me..I grew up in Canberra until the age of 12 and then moved to the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia. I have an older brother, twin (non identical) sister and younger sister. In high school I was a pretty average weight but did experience weight gain due to irregular eating and having take away for dinner.
After high school, I decided enough was enough. It was time to lose weight and get the super skinny body I’d always dreamed of. Being a confused teenager, the only thing I thought I knew about dieting was to basically stop eating and exercise excessively until I was as thin as I wanted to be. I began counting calories and in a few months I’d lost almost 10kg.
People started to notice my weight loss and I enjoyed the compliments. However I had no energy and felt sick and dizzy all the time. It wasn’t worth it! As soon as I started to eat normally again, I gained back the weight plus more.
It was a bit of an endless cycle, I’d starve myself and lose weight only to gain it back every time and repeat the process again.
By about 22 I had finally found a happy balance with my weight. My workouts were more about feeling strong and fit, rather than how long I spent doing cardio. I began eating more fruit and vegetables and taking vitamins while maintaining a weight I was happy with.
Along the way there have been times where I need to step up my work outs and be a little bit more strict on my diet (e.g. after holidays).
This blog was created to help people like me lose weight and lead a healthy lifestyle. As soon as I discover something that benefits my health or might be of help to others, I put it up on the blog straight away.
I receive emails from girls all the time saying that my tips have helped them out and I just LOVE hearing positive feed back.
Well now that you’ve met me, I’d love to get to know you! I have a twitter account so please come and say hello
