If you’re a runner there is an amazing application for your phone called CardioTrainer.
I’m sure there is an equivalent for the iphone too.
Anyway! It’s so cool, you can load your music into your phone and as you run it tells you the speed you are going every few minutes. Plus it also tells you how many kilometers you have run!
Then at the end it compares the workout you just did with previous workouts so you can try and beat your previous time. It’s such a motivating tool to use! I have noise blockout headphones (not good if you are running on a busy road, in case somebody beeps or if a car is coming up about to hit you). If you run in a busy park/path near a main road then it would be good.
Oh yeah, never run alone in a deserted place. I have heard stories of women running with headphones and then being attacked/raped because they don’t hear somebody coming from behind them. I’m not trying to scare anybody but you should really watch out for yourself when exercising outdoors.
I will never run anyway that is quiet and doesn’t have people around. You never know who could be lurking around. Anyway, thats enough of the lesson in safety!
