Here’s the latest rumor regarding Madonna and her strenuous workout regime. It seems that Madonna was so determined to get her four hour workout in each day that sex became a scheduled chore.

By the way I know I’ve been lazy and slack with posts. Yes..both lazy AND slack, but I’m going to be posting everyday again now. So YAYYYY (I’m accepting donations for all the hard work I put in by the way, just send your $10,000 checks via Australia Post)

A source close to the couple told the MailOnline last night: ‘With her time being so precious to her, and with there being more important things to her like spending three of four hours in the gym every day, it become just another thing in the diary. In the last couple of years, it was all schemed into the diary.
‘Guy of felt this a tremendous turn-off to be at the same level of importance as, for example, her gym sessions and Kabbalah meetings.
‘As a consequence, their sex life died more than a year ago. It is no exaggeration to say that they had not shared a bed in a year when the divorce was announced. And when the sex died for them, the marriage was doomed.’

kombucha.jpgI have no idea what kombucha tea…. Lindsay Lohan apparently uses it to speed up her metabloism and help melt cellulite. She is also known to crash diet when she needs to lose fat fast.

So I did a little research, here’s an article from health.ninemsn.com.au.

The new celeb health craze — Kombucha tea

By Laura Mappas, February 27, 2008

Forget Kabbalah-blessed water, the latest celeb trend to take over Tinseltown has healing and anti-ageing super powers.

What is it?
This ancient Chinese ”wonder-drink” is made from a mixture of green tea, black tea and sugar, which is metabolised by the Kombucha ”mushroom”. The mushroom is not really a mushroom, but rather a pancake-like culture of yeast and bacteria that has been given the name because of the shape and colour of the sac that forms on top of the tea as it ferments.

After seeping for 30 days, the yeast breaks down the sugar and combines with the tea to produce powerful antioxidants, minerals and vitamins. During fermentation the ”mushroom” also produces a ”baby mushroom” on its surface — traditionally these new mushrooms are then passed along to others who then make their own cultures.

What is does?
What doesn’t it do? This super-potent concoction increases metabolism, eliminates toxins, reduces cholesterol, fights the effects of ageing, fights diabetes, supports the immune system and is even said to cure alcoholism. On top of this, it also encourages healthy skin and hair, aids digestive and intestinal disorders and promises to ease the pain for arthritis sufferers. Phew!

How does it work?
Kombucha tea introduces lactic acid-producing bacteria called probiotics, similar to acidophilus bacteria found in live yoghurt, which encourages healthy intestinal flora. As the saying goes, ”A healthy gut, a healthy body”, and so intestinal flora plays an important role in the functioning of all organs.

As well a being a great source of the gut-friendly probiotic bacteria, this ancient remedy also contains organic acids, vitamins and enzymes that all add to its super powers. It provides a range of vitamins, including B1, B2, B6 and B12, which release energy, help process fats and proteins and are vital for the healthy functioning of the nervous system. It also contains vitamin C, a great detoxifier and immune booster.

The down side…
It’s not all good news — there have been some serious side-effects reported and even deaths from people who have had a few too many brews. The fermenting mushrooms are a breeding ground for contamination, so steer clear of harmful germs by making sure your vitality-building boost juice doesn’t contain any mould or fungi.

Celeb fans
It seems everyone in Tinseltown is jumping on this energy-boosting bandwagon, including some of Hollywood’s hottest stars. Kirsten Dunst, Lindsay Lohan, Madonna, Halle Berry and Meg Ryan have all ditched their Starbucks in favour of Kombucha after being spotted sipping the detoxifying tea.

Where can you get it?
Traditionally Kombucha tea is home-made, and Chinese legend even says that it only works if the new baby mushroom that is created during fermentation is passed on, free of charge, to someone that you know. But as the popularity of the brew has taken off the boost juice has now been bottled and is sold in selected health food stores. For those who find it hard to swallow, capsules and liquid extract are also available.

madonna

Madonna is old enough to a grandmother but is one of the fittest celebrities you will ever see. She only eats organic and wholesome foods and won’t ever out out at a restaurant or touch junk food. She is a huge fan of Ashtanga Yoga (a more strenous form) and you can see from her video clips she has an amazing level of fitness. A microbiotic diet consists of only eating organic whole grains, beans, vegetables, and some lean meats and lean fish. Its rumored that Madonna spends 3 hours a day working out. I actually don’t find this too hard to believe!

A Day in the Life of Madonna

Ashanta Yoga in her home gym

Breakfast: Macrobiotic Vegetable Soup (soup made from only organic vegetables)

Pilates

Lunch: Macrobiotic Japanese Inspired Meal – steamed vegetables, tofu, seeds, lentils and beans.

She then picks a third exercise out of the following: karate, swimming, pumping iron, running, cycling or horse-riding

Dinner: Lean meat and organic vegetables

According to the Herald Sun ‘ Madonna also works on a stepping machine in her office as she takes calls. During her pregnancy with Lourdes, she maintained a 45-minute daily routine on the machine until the day before she gave birth.’

A source close to Madonna revealed: "The truth is that she takes only Christmas Day off from the workouts. If she has a bad day, she will start exercising furiously. It’s like an emotional crutch — she might have a row with Guy, for example, and her response is to start exercising like a fanatic."
