I’ve finished reading the Diet Solution ebook. And I haven’t gone shopping yet. So I’m printing out the shopping list and taking it with me to the supermarket tomorrow.
So far I’ve found it quite helpful. There’s heaps of information about metabolic types (something I didn’t even know existed before).
According to the book there are three types. Protein Type, Carb Type & Mixed Type. By answering a questionnaire (included in the book) it determines your type and then tells you what food you should eat/avoid to lose weight.

Apparently I’m a carb type. I am not hungry all the time and can sometimes forget to eat, I rely on coffee for energy (so true!)  And crave carby foods. I also learned that the amount of calories I’m supposed to eat per day to lose weight is 1160.

Oh yeah! I was shocked to discover that too much soy is actually bad for you. It affects your hormone levels and can make you infertile. The book says that an infant who is given soy everyday is having the amount of estrogen in 4 or 5 birth control pills :|

On the downside, this program doesn’t have many options for vegetarians. I have to switch around the vegetarian meals from the plans to make a diet. There are a lot of premade meat based diets which would be easy to print out and put up on the fridge.

Anddd here’s a snippet that I thought you guys might find helpful. I hope I don’t get in trouble for infringing copyright or anything (eep) but I’ll just post one page. This comes from the bonus book called “The Top Ten Most Common Nutrition Mistakes”

1. Dying a Sweet Death
It is no longer a secret or even a shock to most people that
refined sugar causes weight gain and is one of the leading causes of
obesity in the world. Sugar is also extremely addictive (causing
feeling of highs and lows in the body similar to most drugs). And the
negative side effects are just as bad as drugs, if not worse.

Americans, truly, don’t realize how much sugar they are
consuming in one day. Most soft drinks, juices and even some
“health” drinks have anywhere between 5-10 teaspoons of sugar in
each 8 oz serving. Can you imagine putting 8 oz of water in a cup
and then adding 10 teaspoons of white sugar and then drinking it?
Well this is exactly what you are doing when you drink any kind of
soft drink, juice and most other drinks on the market today.
And its not just drinks that are loaded with sugar. Most cereals
and packaged foods have sugar (or some form of sugar) listed as the
first or second ingredient (which means it is the ingredient in the
highest quantity).
The following words on a nutritional label mean “sugar” and
should probably be avoided:
• Corn Sweetener, Corn syrup, or corn syrup solids, Dehydrated
Cane Juice, Dextrin, Dextrose, Fructose, Fruit Juice
Concentrate, Glucose, High Fructose Corn Syrup, Honey,
Lactose, Maltodextrin, Malt syrup, Maltose, Maple syrup,
Molasses, Raw sugar, Rice Syrup, Saccharose, Sucrose,
Syrup, Treacle, Turbinado Sugar, Xylose
Fortunately for those looking for a lean, defined body, once you
stop eating sugar, your addiction will quickly disappear. People who
are “on” sugar crave it all the time. People who are “off” sugar, don’t
even miss it. Weaning yourself off sugar and sugar containing
products will cause a drastic and immediate change in your weight.
The first few days may be a bit of a “detox” (just like a drug) but these

symptoms quickly disappear (and so do the pounds!)

I’m thinking of doing a new "Melissa Tests It" blog and want to know which diet pill you want me to test! Here are the options…

Caralluma Burn: Similar to hoodia Caralluma Burn is made from a south african plant called ‘Caralluma Fimbriata’. It works by suppressing the appetite and has been labelled as a ‘famine food’.

Click here to read more about Caralluma Burn.

VS

Proactol: Is made from a non soluble fibre that was proven in clinical studies to bind with dietary fats and it keep them from absorbing in your body – so it actually helps the fat pass right through your body. It has been clinically proven to bind over 27% of dietary fats (and unlike hoodia can be bought in Australia).

Which one do you want me to test?

You decide!

Melissa LaroneMY EXPERIENCE WITH HOODIA CHASER AND HOODIA BALANCE: I decided that I really can’t be seen frolicking in a bikini with this body. Summer is only a few months away and I am going on holidays where bikini wearing is expected! I can usually cover up my body with baggy clothes and still get away with looking kind of smallish but as soon as those layers are removed…it isn’t pretty. I’m currently 118.8lbs and only 5"3′ so it’s not a good look. I am going to be taking photos every ten days to monitor my weight loss! I am going to be taking hoodia balance and hoodia chaser together (I’m not sure if its recommended but I’ll do it anyway) I don’t have much time so I need speedy weight loss! I’m going to take it until I lose enough weight to feel comfortable in a bikini. I ordered a six months supply from Manage Weight Loss Review. I bought 4 bottles of chaser and 4 bottles of hoodia balance (I figure the best value because you get 2 free ones!) I saved up a pay check to get it all. No clothes money this week =( buttt….I’ll be skinnier so my old clothes will look better! I’ll post again in 10 days with before and after photos if it works.

Melissa Tests HoodiaMelissa Tests ItOk so it’s been 10 days. My family didn’t really notice the difference lol but I can tell! I lost 8.8lbs. I haven’t really been eating very differently (I’m a vegetarian so I generally eat pretty healthily). The difference shows in the photos but its not hugely noticeable by looking at me. I definitely feel heaps more confident in underwear but not confident enough to be seen in public on the beach. I am going to post again in 10 days so keep checking back to see how its going! So far…I’m thrilled =D I’m going to take a photo in my room every 10 days wearing the same outfit.  I added a link to where I bought the products from, just click the hoodia bottle and it will take you to the site.

Melissa Tests Hoodia Results

Hi again. So I’ve been on hoodia chaser and hoodia balance for 20 days total now. I haven’t lost as much weight in the second ten days as I have in the first. I guess it’s because I had more to lose before. I have lost 3lbs though which I’m pretty pleased about!!

Hoodia Balance

I have been snorkeling with my boyfriend in a bikini!! YES I wore a bikini in public.

Still…that holiday is creeping up and I want killer abs and MUCH thinner legs. I’m going to post some holiday photos up too. I’ll post again when I feel that I have lost a noticeable amount of weight =)  Hopefully 5lbs in the next 10 days! We’ll see….haha imagine me in a bikini before…BEACHED WHALE! Here is a recent photo. I lost the orange outfit so I just put underwear photos up.
