Giuliana Rancic’s Diet & Exercise Regime

Im going to admit I shamelessly copied and pasted this straight from Guilianas blog! I have been watching her tv show lately, she is incredibly thin! Possibly too thin..

WAKE UP
I wake up at 4:35 am and i’m at the gym by 5am so i don’t have enough time to eat and digest before i get on the treadmill. Therefore, since i DON’T drink coffee, I drink a tea called Yerba Mate. I boil a pot of it at night and put it in a tall glass or pitcher and let it cool down in the fridge overnight. In the morning, I start drinking it right when I wake up so that I have energy by the time I get to the gym. Yerba Mate can be found online or at grocery stores and most brands are good. I love it because it is a NATURAL source of great energy perfect before a workout.

BREAKFAST
After my workout, I head to my 6:30 morning meeting and I drink a 16 oz bottle of water with lemon and a pinch of cayenne pepper in it. This is a great way to wake up your body and get it ready for the food you will soon put into it. I sip my hot green or oolong tea (teagarden.com) from Dr. Tea’s Garden. He is on Melrose Blvd at a place called Tea Garden and before my wedding he had me drinking various slimming teas like oolong and another he made for me called Ti Kwan Yin Oolong. I believe Dr. Tea is moving locations, so I am going to start ordering off his website (teagarden.com) I drink two to three cups a day. I have gotten a few people at work on tea (instead of coffee) and they looove it!!! Coffee can actually hold onto fat whereas green and oolong tea flushes fat out (love that). At this time, I also open up a bottle of GT’s Kombucha in Citrus or Gingerade flavor (gtskombucha.com) I’m also loving the Gingerberry flavor which tastes the best of the three. I sip this throughout the day because it is very good for you and it totally helps with hunger cravings. (see below under Drinks for more info)

At about 7:15am I have an ORGANIC grapefruit. This is an amazing fruit that helps keep you regular and also helps flush out fat. Then I have either an egg white omelet with veggies and herbs (i like to add things like spinach (always) mushrooms, asparagus, broccoli, onions, cilantro, herbs, and tomatoes, sometimes a little grilled chicken breast or turkey breast) I alternate veggies depending on what i’m in the mood for but i always do spinach. So good for you. And i ALWAYS say NO BUTTER, NO OIL…instead tell them to cook it in a light mist of Pam cooking spray. Tell them your allergic to butter so that they don’t slip it in there like a lot of places do. If they don’t have Pam spray, then tell them to use just a DROP or two of Oil!!! If you don’t like omelets, you can also do the same ingredients in a scramble or a frittata…once again, Pam spray or a drop of oil…NO BUTTER!!!

MID-MORNING SNACK
Between breakfast and lunch, my favorite snack in the world is Kashi’s TLC bars in Honey Almond Flax or Cherry Dark Chocolate. I am obsessed with these!!! They are my favorite health bar because they are yummy, low in sugar and all natural. No high fructose corn syrup (the devil) in these puppies!!! I buy them at any grocery store. Kashi is an amazing brand and I love their cereals and oatmeals as well. I always have a Kashi TLC bar or two in my bag and I keep a box at home and at work so that I always have a healthy snack around. Keeps you from running to the vending machine (which you should avoid like the plague, by the way.)

LUNCH
I never have time to leave the office for lunch so I usually order a chicken breast from Koo Koo Roo (the local chicken chain restaurant across the street from E!). I get a rotisserie chicken breast and I eat around the skin or just peel it off and toss it out before I take one bite. The skin is full of fat and nasty for you! I get a large side of steamed broccoli on the side. Lately, I’ve been bringing my own frozen veggies to work and making them in the microwave. I prefer broccoli, asparagus, cauliflower, spinach, red and green peppers. Then I sprinkle some bottled herbs on them and I have a yummy lunch. I follow lunch with an apple or another grapefruit OR I will have another Kashi bar to get some whole grain carbs in there if I am craving carbs. Better than eating white pita or bread. If i’m bored of chicken, I try to get a salmon bowl with brown rice and steamed veggies at whole foods. Or I will get a healthy chicken salad, no wontons or fried stuff in it. I have them toss it LIGHTLY in balsamic vinaigrette which is healthier than most other dressings.

MID-AFTERNOON SNACK
If I’ve only had one Kashi bar, then I will have another as a snack to hold me over to dinner. Sometimes I will eat a Kashi and an organic apple (pink lady and honey crisp are my fads.) That way I get good carbs and satisfy my sweet tooth in a healthy way. Sometimes I will stop and get a fresh squeezed veggie juice made of carrots, beets, cucumbers, broccoli, kale, ginger and lemon (those ingredients aren’t always available so my rule is usually, the greener the veggie, the better).

DINNER
I love sushi so I try to eat at sushi restaurants that serve brown rice sushi (call around…more and more sushi joints are doing this). Otherwise, I will order some albacore and/or salmon sashimi and a couple of rolls (no tempura, no mayo) and sauce on the side. (those yummy brown sauces are full of sugar). Instead, put a little low-sodium soy sauce on your sushi. I don’t use anything sauces at all…I love the rolls and sashimi the way they are. When I go to restaurants, I try to order dishes like grilled chicken breast, grilled fish like halibut, all types of white fish, salmon, hay tuna. I always order steamed veggies, no butter and no oil. if they can’t steam them then tell them you want a touch of oil…stress a touch…otherwise your veggies will be swimming in a pool of oil!!! You can’t go wrong with ordering grilled fish and steamed veggies (especially if you are trying to lose or maintain your weight.) I try not to eat bread or pasta or anything made with white sugar and white flour but I end up having it about once or twice a week.

DESSERT
I looooove dessert but I used to love it too much. So much so that I had to completely cut it out for a while. Now, I will have a bite here or there but I find it is easier to just pass instead of getting that sugar in your bloodstream and then going nuts and chowing down the whole pie. Instead, I order berries after dinner or some sort of fruit. Your body and mind registers the (healthy) sugar and your craving goes away!!! I used to be obsessed with Frozen Yogurt but I found that it is better on your body and weight to have a scoop of real ice cream than a cup of frozen yogurt since the fro yo is all chemicals and your body doesn’t digest it properly.

DRINKS

When I get to the office, first thing I do is take a water bottle and sprinkle some cayenne pepper (just a tiny pinch…if you go overboard, it will be impossible to drink) and I squeeze the juice from half a lemon (save the other half for later.) The cayenne and lemon combo totally revs up your metabolism and gets it going.

As I mentioned before, I am a big green tea and oolong tea junkie. So good for you!

I am a huge fan of Kombucha. The brand I love is GT’s Kombucha at Whole Foods. My favorite flavor is Citrus. Second favorite is the Gingerade flavor. I am loving the Gingerberry flavor as well…yummy!!! Each serving is only 30 calories, no fat, 7 carbs and 2 grams of sugar (natural sugar) and there are two servings per bottle so this drink is super healthy and super low cal:) I usually sip one bottle a day throughout the morning and afternoon. It aids with digestion, speeds up metabolism, helps make your skin and hair healthy, and is super good for your body…plus, it totally helps with appetite control. No joke!!! This is great for me since sometimes I eat totally out of boredom (which i’m sure a lot of you can relate to) so instead, i sip this and then i’m not “fake” hungry anymore because it totally hits the spot. I’m obsessed with it!!! It is a bit pricey but I hear you can get cheaper ones at various health stores or even make it yourself at home! I’m not that brave yet…maybe one day:)

I love stopping by a Juice bar and getting a veggie juice filled with super healthy veggies like spinach, kale, broccoli, beets, cucumber, etc. I add ginger, lemon and parsely when available. This is a terrific snack to have between meals and rather filling too. You will not get fat on raw and steamed veggies!

CHEAT FOOD
Of course I cheat sometimes (I’m human, after all) but i try to limit the cheating to once a week and once I cheat, i don’t say “Oh to hell with it, I’ve cheated so now i’m gonna stuff my face and get back on track tomorrow.” This is a terrible and dangerous attitude and something I used to do all the time. Instead, now I will enjoy the “cheat” food by having a little bit of it and giving the rest away. For instance, if i just MUST have pasta, I will let my husband order it and have some bites of his. Or I will order a healthy dish and ask for a half order of the pasta (no cream, ever!) on the side. I will eat half of the side of pasta and pass the rest around the table so my friends can try it to. That way you are impressing the table with your generosity and cutting lots of calories:) I know this is easier said than done but it all depends on how badly you want to change your eating habits and the way you look.

SWEETENERS
I was that girl who used to put 3 Equals in her coffee. Well, I’ve quit coffee (yes, coffee is bad for you) and I stopped putting all artificial sweeteners into my body. My taste buds have totally changed and now I don’t need sweeteners at all on my food. If something calls for sugar, I opt for a little natural honey…but even that is rare. Or sometimes I sprinkle Stevia (all natural sugar substitute) on my cereal or greek yogurt if I need that extra sweetness, but once again, that is rare since I overcame my sugar cravings!

TIP
The secret to losing or maintaining weight and being healthy is to never go hungry. Anytime I’m hungry, I munch on a Kashi TLC bar (even half and put the other half away for a later snack) or I have an apple, grapefruit or some strawberries, or I have a veggie juice from a health store/bar, or I sip on Kombucha. As you know, almonds are a great snack too but I have had to limit almonds because I just can’t stop after a palmful of almonds. I end up eating the whole jar!!! And that adds up to tons of calories. They now sell raw almonds in individual 100 calorie bags….good solution for a healthy snack.

That is all for now…I will give you all an update in the next couple of weeks. Feel free to twitter me (twitter.com/GiulianaRancic) with any questions or comments.

So there you have it. Giuliana Rancics secret to staying so freaking skinny!

——>Click Here for an AMAZING bikini model diet and exercise regime <——

  • Christine

She seems obsessive about her diet. She doesn’t seem to have a positive outlook of her diet regimen, almost like certain foods were the devil. I smell an eating disorder! But thanks for sharing! :)

  • cansis

Yeah.. she seems a little to paranoid about it all.

  • Aimee

She does seem quite obsessive about her diet, but then I think good on her, she’s obviously got an incredible amount of discipline. It’s quite refreshing to come across someone who will openly admit to how they stay trim.
I’m so sick of all the twig like hollywood starlets claiming they don’t diet or do any exercise!

  • Dominique

I agree with you guys, she seems a little obsessive. I’m not a coffee drinker, but I can’t imagine it’s as bad as she makes it out to be. Also, I wonder how many calories she takes in? Anyone have any estimates? I hope it’s at least 1400 since she works out, but I don’t think it is.

  • criistina

I love her, thanks for this, I want her body, but it take diiscline, and hard work, ps, coffee, is not the devil!!

  • Christina

This girl’s a freak! I mean she seems to be sipping tea, juices, and tonics all day just to keep herself from shoving a baquette into her mouth. I’m sure she’s not the only one in Hollywood finding ways to battle the hunger pangs.

  • Kristina

Whatever she does seems to really work, and I’m going to try some of the things she eats and such. Maybe not the teas, but I do already have green tea so that’s good (= I’ve been drinking the cayenne pepper, lemon water thing and i’m not positive it’s working, but at 5 in the morning it really wakes me up! I have lost a few pounds now, but I don’t know if it’s because of that =)

  • Madison

I agree with Aimee, yeah she’s a little obsessive, but my goodness, at least she’s honest! There have to be lots of celebrities that are this specific about their diet, but they would never tell us.

  • Laura Belle Davies

I have studied body nutrition etc, she eats really clean essential foods, that are good for her body and within our society of mass consumption of food this style of nourishment is deemed to be wrong! When lean small women want to nourish and feed there body correctly they are said to have an eating disorder, i find this very depressing and commend Guiliana for coming out and highlighting her diet in such detail, hopefully this intelligent individuals will take on some of her tips and advice and use it to improve there body. This is the way we would eat 60 odd years ago, when unhealthy unclean foods were not as readily available, maybe we should try it again and reduce the risk of death and other serious issues involving obesity!

  • Lou

This is pretty scary. I wonder how her husband feels about her behaviour. I would be incredibly concerned if someone i cared for behaved like this

  • sab

im sorry, but how does someone get energy from tea? enough to work out??

  • lex

She is amazing! And she is far from an eating disorder. anyone who says she has one obviously is unaware of what a “good” and “healthy” diet is. Shes not obessive at all! We are only given one body and we should want to care about what we put into it!

  • Holly J

I think she has an admirable regimen. Our country is so used to eating huge amounts of food and eating such crap then when we see someone who is actually healthy we look at her like she is crazy. I’d love to get on her diet.

  • lovergirl

Did anyone think her mass amount of product name reference was odd? I wonder how much Kashi paid her to gush about their bars?

  • Mel

    So true!

  • pc

Laura: Thank You! I absolutely agree. It’s frightening how people can’t see good nutrition when it’s spelled out; if a diet doesn’t include a burger then it’s obsessive.
Lovergirl: When I love a product (and with her stringent guidelines, it’s hard to find) all I want to do is gush about it. Gt Kombucha is a unique product that deserves attention.

G has totally inspired me to stop being so slack and accommodating everyone around me by eating poorly. A rigorous regime like this one is not lacking in energy (there are over 1500 cal+ all nutrients) and when i was last on one like this I was thin AND energetic: not something you’d receive from processed foods.

This isn’t disordered obsessive eating. When people eat foods that kill them, not nourish them THAT is disordered.

  • Reina

Giuliana is awesome for posting her diet regimen. And no, this isn’t disordered in the least bit. It’s health conscious. Scarfing down over 2000 calories a day is disordered, and most of us are guilty of this, thanks to our food industry.

  • Candice

I dont find much wrong with this diet. It’s very health conscious, like Reina said and it’s good to see a celeb opening up about her strict diet… Not many celebs would do this. Most celebrities starve themselves – and spend like 10 hours on the treadmill a day.

Good diet ALTHOUGH she could be a little less strict on herself by allowing herself to ENJOY her treats and not feel bad about eating a whole bowl of pasta – she is skinny and she deserves the treats.

On the other hand i have to say – why on earth is she on a diet???

  • dj

This diet contains little no fat minimal protien… no balance of carbs fat protein here. she will never have a child on this pathetic self weight obsessed diet, she is manic….
to even hate foods etc.ffs. there is a place for all types of food in moderation and serving size, she looks like a rake and with a fishbowl face, eat some omega 3,6,9 balance of fats, slow down, since you are a hyper ecto morph body type with high energy drive (4.45 am wake up) thats not normal… how does she get to sleep at 8pm go knows with all that tea energy lol…..her dopamine, adrenal levels are way to high…

u already have a crazy metabolism thus diet is just promoting sever weight loss which someone of here size shape does not need. I think she has mental issues from the past to address…

  • Megan

I think her diet is healthful. She’s cutting out sugar which is important. She is eating carbs (brown rice, fruits, and veggies). Protein: Chicken, fish. We critique her diet and I bet we are same people that are not being honest about ourselves in our eating habits.

So what she gets up early to workout–that is her schedule not yours. By the way the Kashi bars are pretty good. I’m sure she’s exhausted when she gets home to get a good night sleep for the next day.

  • Lara

You should try starting sentences with “In my opinion”.

Might make you a bit more bearable.

  • Lara

    oh hectic. good observation!

  • Charlotte

i think that her diet is overall pretty good. she does come across a bit obsessive but theres nothing wrong with the food itself, its quite balanced, it just needs a tweak here and there. although if i’m having a treat you wouldn’t catch me passing my bowl around for everyone! for my one treat a week, i want to enjoy it and hoard it all to myself lol!

good for her being honest and open about her diet too. personally i think shes too thin but thats her choice

  • reed

60 years ago in America people were NOT drinking water with cayenne pepper in it. That is bizarre. Kombucha is disgusting and full of MOLD. That’s right, good old fashioned MOLD. Medical professionals warn people not to drink it because many people have gotten sick and had adverse reactions.

What people did 60 years ago is eat when they’re hungry, stop when they’re full and eat stuff that wasn’t pumped full of hormones, chemicals, and garbage. I totally agree that Americans have become disgusting in their dietary habits and the obesity rates are staggering.

Instead of turning to cayenne pepper in water and mold tea why don’t we just eat a diet full of fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, whole grains, with treats from time to time. It’s common sense, after all.

  • reed

cayenne pepper in water? and “will let” her husband to order pasta so she can have a bite? she sounds like a complete whack job. if i were her husband i’d order pasta every night and rub it in her face. she sounds like a nightmare. not to mention kombucha is DISGUSTING MOLD TEA. ugh, get a grip people.

  • startxtoday

I only read a few paragraphs because this woman is mental. Even if a lot of the stuff she does would be a great addition to someone’s diet her attitude towards food is pretty messed up. I’ve read stuff she has written before and a lot of the focus is on natural products and boosting energy etc which is great but i think she goes too far and it seems an awful long time before she puts any food in her body each day. Her diet would probably be a great kick start for a healthier regimen but a more sensible approach should be used long term.

  • Sara

@Laura Belle Davies: I am agree with you…she eat healthy and she is very honest to share with us his tips….of course some things are strange like chayene in water but thats her choice….
    thanks G

  • melissa

She eats really healthy!!!! instead of saying bad comments dont you think its good that someone takes care of their health ? just because you guys dont take so much care doesnt mean she cant

  • melissa

and the cayenne pepper is like what you do in the master cleanse, it opens some cells that make the nutrients more available to your body. and cayenne pepper has other health benefits too so why not???? i do it too and i love it

  • Cierra

I think that this diet is pretty healthy! I mean, really, she’s eating lean protien, carbs, and veggies. It’s really low in fat, which isn’t ideal but I definitely don’t think she is ‘mental’. Also, kombucha is really good for you, I make my own at home and while the taste takes a while to get used to, you can really feel the benefits of drinking it right away! I reccomend it to everyone :)

  • Brittany

I can’t honestly believe you all think this is healthy?! Your body is made of fat, and it needs fat to survive. While I don’t feel that stuffing your face with McDonald’s and fried crap is healthy, this is unhealthy on the opposite spectrum. She is getting no fat or cholesterol. Doing minimal research you can find that when you have extremely low cholesterol, your body does not produce its hormones, which is probably why she doesn’t make enough progesterone to get pregnant and stay pregnant. Your body makes hormones from cholesterol, and it stops if your serum levels fall below 150. Also, our ancestors did NOT eat like this. They ate full fat dairy, cream, red meat, lard, chicken with skin, butter, and oil. Yes, they also ate fresh, non polluted, non pesticide-ed, grown-in-mineral-rich-soil fruits and veggies. Your body needs fats and saturated fat, period. Want to what makes American fat? Kraft, Coca-Cola, General Mills, I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter!, Hostess, Little Debbie, McDonalds…and about 1,000,000 other crappy foods that are on the shelf. Get a grip people, and actually learn something.

  • Alice

Ok, I read this a few years ago and I really wanted to have my say. Giuliana is doing severe damage to her body through such a restrictive diet. Tea doesn’t give you energy. How many people enjoy having dinner with someone who is too obsessed with what they’re eating (or not) to hold a conversation? Look at the results of the Ancel Keys Minnesota Starvation Study done in the 1960s. A group of healthy young men went on a semi starvation diet where their calories were restricted and when their body weight dropped too low they started to show signs that were seen in eating disorder patients. Moral of the story, eating disorder symptoms (preoccupation with food, low sex drive, neurosis, obsession with body image) are naturally occurring biological reactions that occur following a) weight loss and b) dietary restriction. One man went crazy and cut a finger off, others binged. If she feels like she’s fighting a battle with herself every day to maintain this routine, it’s a) not sustainable and b) she’s going to have health problems when she’s older. She sounds completely batty here.

People here say she’s eating ‘healthily’ (in theory), but what about the nutrients and calories she’s depriving herself of? The baseline minimum recommended calories for a person actually covers organ functioning, cell repair, hair growth and other basic functions, and restrictive diets compromise this significantly.

It doesn’t matter how ‘healthily’ you eat, and ‘health’ has become synonymous with ‘weight loss’. Which is not true, when you are underweight. When you’re underweight, you get sicker (i.e. unhealthier) the more weight you lose, even though being underweight is culturally admirable. She doesn’t care about her health. She just wants to stay thin. Bottom line. I’ve had an eating disorder for many years and have friends with ED’s and I’ve seen it all before. She blends in with celebrity culture though because they’re all like that.

She always looks sick and in her old age she’s going to have a tonne of health problems and possibly even organ failure. When you restrict your diet for long enough, your organs will shut down. I have kidney and organ damage as a result of my eating disorder, and on some days my cognition is severely compromised to the point where I start hallucinating and my brain won’t process information or make sense of it. This is all due to dietary restriction much like Giuliana’s diet. Being miserable and irritable all the time is another side effect.

A person who is not depriving themselves doesn’t have to drink copious amounts of liquid to ‘ward off’ ‘hunger pangs’. This is very disordered but it’s disturbing how much of what she says here is very common and ‘socially acceptable’. The boundaries between wanting to be healthy and being eating disordered and weight obsessed are blurred in our culture. Health doesn’t have as much to do with weight than we think it does. I’m not talking about the seriously emaciated or morbidly obese, because neither of these extremes are healthy, but somewhere in the middle of that there is a place where our bodies want us to be and they will fight us biologically to maintain that weight. We live in a society of extremes. Just because there is a problem with obesity in society doesn’t mean that people who don’t need to lose weight need to jump up and down and obsess about their weight as if becoming obese is as easy as catching a cold. I mean, jesus christ. People think they’re suddenly nutritionists these days because they read a few weight loss articles.

  • Maude

I know this is an older article, but I had to comment.
How can anyone think this is a “healthy diet”? Where are the healthy fats, iron rich proteins, and whole grains? I don’t know how this girl has the energy to read the teleprompter. It sounds TOO low calorie. It sounds like chicken skin really freaks her out.Anyone who doesn’t enjoy a nice piece of french bread with real butter or a piece of chicken with crispy skin is not living! Whats scary is that she is so proud of this. I bet she didn’t even eat the cake at her own wedding. Of course she is passing this off as being “healthy”. What a joke.

  • Honora

This is not healthy eating behaviour. This is classic anorexic eating: a list of safe foods and a list of foods she never touches.

60 years ago healthy slim people ate butter, bread, sugar, cream, oil, nuts, jam… along with a wide range of fruits, vegetables and meat. A major difference was that people bought ingredients and prepared meals. We had almost no prepared foods in the house in the 1950s and, for the most part, people ate what they wanted and were slim.

People did not consume hidden ingredients in their prepared foods unless they ate things like sliced meat and other new types of food which began to make inroads in an otherwise healthy diet: tv dinners, cold cereal, cheese whiz… the beginning of the end of real food.

Most people did not have gym memberships nor did you see anyone jogging through the streets after work. People played games (tennis, golf, hoops, etc.) mostly on the weekends, took walks in the evening, went dancing, washed dishes, hung out laundry, got up to change tv channels, played with their kids in the back yard and spent more calories in every day life.

It was rare for someone to get into trouble with food but it did happen. There was a very low rate of eating disorders on either end of the spectrum but they did exist. For the most part, as the previous poster wrote, people ate when they were hungry, sitting down to do so and consuming real food, and stopped when they were sated. And, for the most part, people were within a healthy weight range without much effort.

Now, we are out of control in every conceivable way: we don’t cook, we can’t eat intuitively and the things we do choose to eat barely resemble food. It is little wonder that we are obsessed, anxious and unhealthy.

There is nothing about Giuliana Rancic’s diet and exercise regime than could be considered healthy. It is a recipe for disaster.

  • Honora

To clarify: This is a reply to Laura Belle Davies not to Reed with whom I agree.

  • ShoobyDooby

Everything has pretty much been said, good and bad, about Guiliana Ranci’s diet but here’s my 2 cents. In my opinion, as a former competitive athlete and personal trainer, the foods she eats and her habit of skipping the oil are very familiar, as many in the fitness industry do this. The foods she is consumes are healthy, but the amount/quanities may not be. It is difficult to say for certain without directly working with Guilana, but she may need to up her daily caloric intake based on the type, intensity, and duration of her workouts. If that is the case, there is not necessarily a need to consume more fatty foods, just more of what she is already eating. I’d suggest more protein, especially as she ages to maintain healthy muscle tissue. In my personal opinion, from an aesthetic standpoint I think she would look more attractive and healthy with a bit more “meat” on her bones.

  • marathongirl

Wow.. Anyone jealous much? She’s beautiful & eats healthy! To have that kind of discipline is amazing, not unhealthy. She obviously gets everything she needs. She even admits she has her cheat snacks… Come on guys.

  • frank

I believe she stays away from the “bad” foods and eats the healthy foods she talks about but I also thinks she eats tiny portions of those healthy foods… and even skips meals from time to time.

I think she usually only eats a grapefruit for breakfast, then 1 snack bar for lunch, and a small salad with a bit of lean chicken strips for dinner. She probably drinks alot of tea thruout the day to feel full.

  • frank

Oh btw, just because she says she eats “cheat snacks” doesn’t mean she really does it… people have obviously said she looks anorexic before so I think she added more foods than she really eats.

  • Jenny

    @Alice:
Thank you Alice for writing the sane truth about Giulianas ED-diet! It was refreshing to read among all those crazy comments about how healthy her diet is. I’m not surprised at all that she has such trouble getting pregnant because her body seems to be in a constant starvation mode and probably fights really hard to ward off a resource- and energy-consuming pregnancy. I’m just surprised her fertilitydoctors don’t tell her the truth about the effect her ED has on her chances of getting pregnant but they probably don’t have the courage to do so. What a shame!

  • Bronwynn Naude

I find it hysterical that almost everyone has something (negative) to say about this…all of a sudden everyone has turned into a dietitian/fertility expert! Way to go people, show your colors!

  • Allee

No matter what your diet is, no one likes to be at dinner with a food obsessed person who is more concerned about how much oil is In her veggies than the conversation at the table. She is going to look back on this time when she is 70 and aged and old just like all of us will be one day or when she is just too old to be on tv anymore and realize she wasted so many nights out with family and friends worrying about things that don’t matter.

  • Missy

She gets snaps for being honest about what she eats. All the celebrities give those B.S. answers when asked what they eat. They all say how they eat healthy & they also give into eating foods they love. Yada yada. She was honest and I have no doubt that almost every skinny celebrity eats just like that except many of them also work out 2-3 hours a day plus take Adderall and coke & heroin in the bargain along with the colonics and cleanses (Guiliana did the cleanse thing as well that she once discussed). How else could normal people be so skinny? You don’t get to be a size 0 from eating whatever you want! They all starve and torture themselves to be that way. I appreciate her honesty. But I do agree that her being so thin and not eating much fat at all probably contributed to infertility and the hormones to get pregnant probably contributed to her cancer. Think of anyone you know who’s very thin. They hardly eat. There are like 1 in 10000 people who can eat what they want and stay thin, particularly once you’re past 35 or 40. But she was honest enough to tell people which you won’t see Angelina Jolie doing.

  • http://www.pinkladyproductions.blogspot.com Shara

Now I understand why she could not get pregnant. Man, what a way to live. I heard E gives her no budget for her clothes so she depends on samples from designers for her wardrobe. She is trying to be a size that she is not supposed to be at all for her frame. I am surprised that her Doctors did not ask her about her Fat in take and ask her to do a food journal and then see if she needed the hormone treatments. Most likely she needed to gain about 20 pounds and work out only three times a week that would have done the trick I am sure. Just goes to show you how our Health system works they just want to feed you drugs instead of finding the root cause of the problem.

I love G..but man is she thin!
And we all know that camera adds pounds.
She looks really thin even on TV so I seriously wonder how thin she must be off camera.
I am one of those people who will always prefer Miranda Kerr over Adriana Lima ‘coz she’s more lean
And even I think G is too thin.
I won’t talk about her diet being healthy or unhealthy but yes, I think she seems obsessive.
Dear G, you will still look great even if you gain 20 pounds..

Hmm, wonder if I’m the only person who looks skinnier on cam than in person? Anyway, for the post, I can assume she has about 1000-1200 cals/day. How in the world is this even close to healthy? She has tonnes of caffeine (tea by weight has more caffeine than coffee; she also admits to having them to curb her hunger.
I think it was reported a few months back that she has breast cancer? Maybe on the bright side, she can start eating a balanced ratio of fat, proteins and carbs. Stopping fat = not good, you wont be able to ingest the good nutrients (sat fat in coconut is good for you.. seriously, look it up).

Bottom line: She needs to add on a few pounds.

See, I don’t detect an eating disorder. She’s just eating really clean foods. I think she’s one of those naturally thin ectomorph types. In my opinion, women are just jealous of her. In order to have zero body fat, you have to exercise and watch what you eat…that’s exactly what she is doing.

Ok, I’ve worked in the health field for a while and she IS eating healthy. Those are clean foods not anorexic foods. She has whole grains, lean protein and fruits and veggies which has tons of nutrients and vitamins. And it’s good that she takes what she puts in her body seriously, at least she knows what she is putting in her body and i’m guessing some of you don’t. And im sorry but how could she be anorexic and do all that she does. Being anorexic means you are lacking nutrients form not eating and have dull hair etc, but she’s always beaming with energy and has gorgeous shiny hair. As for the not eating much pasta or white flour, i know for a fact that when you stop eating those types of food you feel sick after eating them. She’s not crazy she is healthy. Also, kombucha is NOT bad for you, it’s great for you.

its nice that guliana shares her diet
but can we be honest here?

    she had cancer
and shes on a cancer drug for a while to come after a mastectomy
    a double mastectomy

is she really the person to turn to for diet and lfestyle advice

as far as E not giving her a budget for clothes and she has to wear ‘samples’…a total lie

she’s an ok person…though a pal did share with me that she met her in a store and guliana seemed annoyed that she had to shop with the ‘little people”

the thing is…I hope she dosent feed her child diet similac
    or low cal baby food

guliana dosent know the first thing about diet and health
if she did she wouldnt have pumped herself with IVF hormones
for 3 rounds…she would have sought out accupuncture to get pregnanat..also
fat is essential to the skin and brain function

have any of you seen her lately?
I mean without the wig and the orange tan and the injectable collogen….I hope this precious baby brings a new awarenes to guliana…she is clearly not thinking straight

I think some of you are really jealous, and it makes you look really dumb. She’s really pretty anf eats healthy what wrong with that. Are some of you over weight is that why you are so nasty toward her. Get over it.
