If you have an cup of fat and a cup of muscle and you weigh them... the muscle will weigh more. Of course one pound and one pound are the same thing, but you need more fat than muscle to get to that one pound weight. It's like... to get a pound of whipped cream you need a LOT of it, but to get a pound of cheese, you need a smaller amount. Yes, muscle is more dense therefore weighs more. However, I'm pretty sure than when ppl state that muscle weighs more than fat they are speaking in terms per square inch (or whatever size comparison u choose).
