Day 6 to 10 on Fruit and Vegetable Detox

DAY SIX

Day six was about the ame as day five! Didn’t feel tempted by naughty food at all and was optimistic about the next four days. I got sick of washing the blender all the time so had less juice than I probably should have.

DAY SEVEN

This was the day that I really struggled with the detox! My partner and I went out to the shops and I couldn’t get anything for dinner. The vegetarian restaurants all close really early (8pm and 8:30pm) so he bought a pizza and I had to come home and cook a whole soup from scratch! I forgot to write down my meals for day 7 and 8. Woops!

DAY EIGHT

Got a HUGE ulcer in my mouth which made eating quite painful. I forgot to write down what I ate but it mainly consisted of fruit and vegetable juice & soup.

DAY NINE

Meal 1: Fruit shake with spinach and kale
Meal 2: Pear
Meal 3: Vegetable curry and pumpkin salad
Meal 4: Carob chocolate & spelt licorice
Meal  5: Vegetable curry and pumpkin salad

DAY TEN

Meal 1: Fruit shake with spinach
Meal 2: Pumpkin soup
Meal 3: Pumpkin soup & cacao chocolate
Meal 4 : Deep fried mars bars, chips, 1/2 slushie (end of detox obviously haha)

Day 5 on Fruit and Vegetable Detox

Here is my day five video update! I am going to put some more recipes up tomorrow :)

I’m aware that I had a little bit too much fat today! At least it’s healthy fat, right?
I had a healthy cheat meal tonight of avocado mousse and cacao chocolate. Tomorrow I am going to have more of the green smoothies and less treats!

Meal 1: Handful of almonds & kale juice with apple and lemon
Meal 2: Pumpkin and sweet potato soup [recipe]
Meal  3: Piece of raw cacao chocolate, handful of nuts & soup
Meal 4: Avocado mousse [recipe] & cacao chocolate [recipe]

Day 3 and 4 Detox Update!

DAY THREE:

I really don’t have much to say! It has been so easy since I incorporated nuts into the plan. I really do feel quite energetic! At times I have mood swings and I must admit that I burst into tears in public today. This is a VERY rare thing for me..I hardly ever cry and especially not in front of people! So that must have been diet related haha because it really was over nothing.

Yep so overall, I’ve been energetic and a bit moody. My partner tells me that I’m on an ‘emotional roller coaster’.

I have enjoyed making new recipes and finding out all the amazing healthy ingredients that you can make desserts with! You MUST check out my avocado mousse recipe. DELICIOUS :D

Meal 1: Green juice
Meal 2: Handful of cashews and banana
Meal 3: Green juice
Meal 4: Roasted asparagus and leek soup [recipe]
Meal 5: Raw vegan chocolate mousse

Roasted asparagus and leek soup

DAY FOUR:

Today I woke up in a ridiculously happy mood. I am finding this way of eating such an awesome and positive change!
It feels like this is the ‘right’ way to be eating. It makes me feel really proud and accomplished at how much fresh produce I have been eating over the last four days.

It has been a little bit expensive because I didn’t plan ahead and buy everything I needed on the weekend at the farmers market. I underestimated just how much stuff I would use. Buying fruit and vegetables from the supermarket in Australia is so expensive! Avocados are $3 each at the moment in Woolworths :s Tomatos are $12 per kg. Ok I’m getting side tracked….back to the detox.

I didn’t do a video today or yesterday because I have nothing to update on. I am doing one tomorrow because it is the half way point. It has gone very quickly!

So far…10/10 recommend doing something like this. You WON’T reget it. Plus I feel a bit thinner around my waist which is always a plus :)

Meal 1: Banana and cacao powder blended
Meal 2: Roast pumpkin salad & 1/2 a fruit and vege juice
Meal 3: Woolworths raw food bar
Meal 4:  Asparagus and leek soup [recipe]

Back from Thailand!

Ok so I may have lied when I said posting will resume on the 3rd of March. Sorry peeps!
My boyfriend wasn’t as paranoid about germs as I was on the flight home and ended up getting quite sick. I have been taking care of him/back at work so haven’t had time to post on the site.  He should have listened to me and slept with a t-shirt wrapped around his face! (I didn’t do that..)

Have I missed out on much??

Thailand was AMAZING! Probably the best holiday of my life. Mainly because it was for my good friends wedding and it turned out to be a big reunion with everyone. Most of our friendship group have moved overseas and live in different countries. Was great to have everyone back in one place!

We stayed in an awesome villa for a few nights with the bride & groom after the wedding (honeymoon crashers). Here are some piccies for your creeping pleasure haha :)

Ok enough about me. Back to CELEBRITY DIET news!! I’m on the case and will report back with my findings soon

xx

Happy New Year!!!! Reflecting on 2011 Goals

How did you spend your New Years Eve?? I went to see the fireworks and had way too many alcohol beverages (no I didn’t, I had one. But did I sound cool for a second?)

Here is a photo from New Years Eve. Can you believe that this is my 7th year out of highschool? I can't!! Crazy.

Anyway, I thought it might be a nice idea to look back at the goals I had set for myself at the start of 2011 and see if I achieved them.

Here are the goals I had in 2011

Go to the gym at least 4 times a week (holidays excluded) – Yes I did this one!!

Swim with dolphins – I’ve had this goal for the past 5 years and its really not that unachievable. 2011 is the year! – 2011 wasn’t the year..I found out some shocking things about the way the dolphins in captivity are caught and don’t want to support it. I did hand feed a wild dolphin though!!
My sister is on the left (doing most of the feeding in this shot) and I am on the right. Excuse my other sister’s language. She was very excited! I’m on the right and fed the dolphin after this was filmed.

Eat smaller portions of healthier food – Yes! Definitely achieved this one. Eating 6 small meals a day has become normal for me now

Never feel ashamed/embarrassed about my body (because I’ll always be bikini ready) – Hmm, I can’t say that I didn’t felt ashamed/embarrassed of my body at all in 2011. I can say that my confidence increased tremendously though

Spend more time with my parents – This is a difficult one, my parents divorced in 2011 so it is hard to spend time with them because it always has to be separate and there is the risk of upsetting the other one. I probably spent the same amount of time with them as 2010

Explore South East Asia for a month or more and not be afraid to try new things – Yes I went to South East Asia and became a qualified scuba diver!

Be more outgoing and confident – Not really achieved. I better sign up to toastmasters this year!

Don’t go to fast food restaurants as often – Yep! Achieved

Have a closer relationship with my sisters - I think I achieved this one. We went on a sister weekend to Sydney and I booked a trip to Fiji with my twin sister (leaving in 12 days YAY)

Looking forward to spending 7 days in Mana Island with my sister!

Get a dslr camera and learn how to use it! – I bought the camera but didn’t learn how to use it. Auto mode is my best friend at the moment. 50% achieved

Take better care of my hair and skin – I started using under eye cream and making it routine to moisturise my face every night. I also started dry brushing but wasn’t SUPER consistent with it. Also, I have discovered Kerastase shampoo and conditioner. My hair has NEVER been healthier yay. AND my sister and I bought a Nano Keratin treatment machine together. I’d say this was achieved.

Drink green tea! - Not really achieved. I have had it on and off during the year but never made it a daily thing

See baby turtles hatching – I didn’t see them hatching but held a baby turtle that had recently hatched and released it into the ocean in the Philippines!

Baby Turtles - Bad quality photo, taken with my boyfriend's phone! It was a spur of the moment thing and was magical! One of my best memories in 2011

Go on more beachwalks – appreciate nature – I probably went on less beach walks because it was a busier year. This will be on the goal list for 2012

Walk my dogs more often – I took them to the dog park every Sunday to socialise which counts! Kind of achieved

Take better care of my car! (it hasn’t been serviced in a while) – My dad surprised me by servicing my car while I was in Asia. YAY! I have kept it spick and span

Drink more water - Yep

Try new recipes – I did try new recipes but didn’t cook as often

Donate to charity – Achieved!

I’m still working on my goal list for 2012. Do you have any goals that you are working on??

How cool is this quote..

“If you keep on going the way you’re going you’ll end up where you’re heading – which direction are you aiming for?”

2 Tablespoons of Olive Oil = 250 Calories

KILL ME NOW!

I know Olive Oil is considered a healthy fat but I had NO Idea how many calories were in it. I don’t really count calories but JEEZ, I’m going to lay off the oil a bit
