The Bikini Model Program

168

For those of you who are regular Celebrity-Diets.org readers, you’ll know that I often test out different diet pills & weight loss plans as part of my ‘Melissa Tests It’ blog posts.
I’ve finished on the Bikini Model Program and overall I really did enjoy following it. I still do the work outs and follow the eating plan (not as strict as I was though).

All of the following posts were spread over approximately 10 weeks. I hope you enjoy reading it!

Please feel free to leave a comment on this page if you’d like to ask me any questions. I answer most questions in the video blogs.

Week One on the Bikini Model Program

Yep so for the latests ‘Melissa Tests It’ experiment, I’m on the bikini model diet and will be updating my weight loss. I haven’t been exercising very much this week because I’ve had the flu but can notice a difference in my weight already. I have been following the eating plan from the book :) This video was taken after a few weeks of no diet/exercise. I basically gained weight because of the movie Eat, Pray, Love. I figured..I’ll buy bigger clothes! After a few fun calorie free weeks I am now planning to get into great bikini shape for summer.

WEEK TWO
1st December 2010
My Bikini Model Program Update – Beginning of Week 3

After 15 days on the bikini model program I’ve lost 6.6kg so far. I think its a program I’ll be able to stick to long term too which is good! Obviously I’ll ease up a little bit when I’m quite happy with my weight.

I like the structure of having a proper eating plan and exercise regime thats not too strict. I’m able to switch things up all the time!
The ‘low calorie splurges’ are a huge help but some of them have sweetener in them so I try to avoid them :)

On an unrelated note, did anybody from the US catch the Victorias Secret Fashion Show? I’m dying to see it!

Anyway, here is a video of my progress on The Bikini Model Program

If you want to read the program you can get it from thebikinimodelprogram.com

Ok well it’s getting late here and I’m contemplating watching wife swap in bed or putting a few more posts up on the site..hmmm!

Ps: If you have any questions please feel free to ask in the comments section below :D

WEEK THREE
10th December 2010
Lost 1.5kg This Week and 8kg Total

Ok so I’ve been following The Bikini Model Program as part of my ‘Melissa Tests It’ blog posts. For the past 3 weeks I’ve been following it really closely & have also had three cheat meals, usually on Sunday. The past week I haven’t done much cardio because things have been so hectic with Christmas just around the corner!

I’m too tired to write much more (its 1:44am here!) so I’m off to bed. If you have any questions I’ll come back and answer them tomorrow! I think I cover everything in the video though :)

GENERAL UPDATE
28th December 2010
A Belated Merry Christmas

I haven’t done much work on the site recently due to all the Christmas festivities and last minute gift shopping! I just thought I’d give you a little update on how things are going. For the last week I have strayed from the Bikini Model Program a little bit! I am back on track now but just couldn’t maintain it with all the Christmas gatherings. I managed to eat fairly healthily on Christmas day. I mainly had salad for lunch but did eat my fair share of caramel slice and chocolate!

I thought maybe some of you out there had also had the same thing happen during the last week. Let’s just all forget it happened and move on? Ok! Sounds like a great plan!

If there is any chocolate/cakes/junk food left over from Christmas maybe you should remove it from the house. It’s just too tempting! We’ve probably all got our New Years Eve outfits picked out and three days of healthy eating will make the world of difference to how you look and feel on New Years!

Do you have any goals for 2011? I’d love to hear them!

Here are my goals (in no particular order)

  • Go to the gym at least 4 times a week (holidays excluded)
  • Swim with dolphins – I’ve had this goal for the past 5 years and its really not that unachievable. 2011 is the year!
  • Eat smaller portions of healthier food
  • Never feel ashamed/embarrassed about my body (because I’ll always be bikini ready)
  • Spend more time with my parents
  • Explore South East Asia for a month or more and not be afraid to try new things
  • Be more outgoing and confident
  • Don’t go to fast food restaurants as often
  • Have a closer relationship with my sisters
  • Get a dslr camera and learn how to use it!
  • Take better care of my hair and skin
  • Drink green tea!
  • See baby turtles hatching
  • Go on more beachwalks – appreciate nature
  • Walk my dogs more often
  • Take better care of my car! (it hasn’t been serviced in a while)
  • Drink more water
  • Try new recipes
  • Donate to charity

Here’s a photo of my little sister & myself taken on Christmas day

Yep I made the caramel slice. It was a hit!

What are YOUR goals? Leave them in the comment section!!!

AFTER 2 MONTHS
13th January 2011
My Bikini Weight Loss Journey After 2 Months – Before & After Clips

I had told you of my Christmas calorie dilemma in the last update but want to let you know whats been going on since then :)
I have been roughly following the bikini model program diet but definitely not properly the way that I should be. I also haven’t been to the gym regularly either!
Another bikini video is coming tomorrow (although I wont be as skinny as in the last video).
The latest news is that I just booked my tickets to South East Asia!!!
The scary part is that I’m leaving in only 6 weeks lol. I have SIX WEEKS to be in bikini ready shape.
If that isn’t motivation then I don’t know what is!

So the plan is to be strict on the program again and recommence doing weekly videos. I’ve found a sneaky little trick for reducing carbs at lunch too so I’ll be making a recipe in the next vid. I’m going grocery shopping today and filming the update tomorrow.

Even though I’ve strayed a little bit from the program I’ve still managed to keep a bit of the weight off. I somehow fit into a size 6 dress for New Years Eve! (I’m not sure what size that is in America?)

If you have been following the program I’d love to hear how you are going. Please tell me!

Also please feel free to share diet tips in the comments section below. I want this website to be a place where we encourage each other to be healthy, eat well and share anything we learn :)

As for my trip Id love to hear any travel tips too!! I’ll be away for just over 4 weeks and most places will be very beachy so bikinis are required. I’m going to an island called Palawan (Philippines), Krabi, Phuket and Phi Phi Island in (Thailand), Ho Chi Minh, Hanoi & Halong Bay (Vietnam) plus Borneo (Malaysia). Yep so I’m in hardcore saving and diet mode for the trip :)

Krabi, Thailand

Palawan, Philippines

I’m hoping to see Orangutans in Borneo!

PS: The other day my boyfriend told me about a protein powder that has been specifically designed to replace meals and has appetite suppressant in it so I’m thinking of adding that into my program if it works and tastes good.

UPDATE & HEALTHY BURGER RECIPE
9th February 2011
Healthy Burgers With Carb Reducing Trick

Here is one of the main things I’ve been eating that has really helped me stay full and lose weight at the same time! In The Bikini Model Program there is a recipe for veggie burgers that is quite simple with not many ingredients. I started out having Jennifer Nicole Lee’s recipe but then it morphed and snowballed into this giant salad packed burger!

UPDATE
23rd February 2010
A Quick Update From Manila, Philippines

Hi everyone!

I’ve arrived in Manila safe and sound and will be heading to Palawan this afternoon. I wanted to let you know that I’m not sure if there will be internet on the island so I might not be able to post again until the 2nd of March. Hopefully theres some sort of connection!

Also as an update on the bikini model program, I took a video the night before I left but didn’t have time to upload it. Of course I left everything to the last minute and was in a mad rush!

I’m just trying to figure out how to get the hd video file onto my macbook so I can post it up! For some reason it just doesn’t seem to be agreeing with my computer. Any tips?

I think I look more toned in the arms and stomach now. My legs unfortunately are still my problem area but still WAY better now than before starting the program. I’ll get a few bikini shots too.

This next thing Im about to tell you is something I find quite interesting…

The bikini model program has changed the way I think about food. Every other time I’ve been on holidays I seem to just throw in the towel (so to speak) and just eat whatever I want whenever I want. I never set out on this trip with any restrictions or limitations at all but have been eating very healthily and making wiser food choices.

At breakfast yesterday I found myself choosing to have low GI complex carbs and protein (from beans). In the past I would have had a big bowl of sugary cereal, fruit salad, yogurt and probably a few pastries.
For breakfast this morning I had an egg white omelette with tomato, onion and capsicum plus a little bit of fruit salad.

I feel less bloated and more motivated because of the food choices I’ve been making. It’s good feeling in control of my health! Also my shorts are getting a bit loose and I don’t have to worry about trying to find baggy t-shirts to wear after demolishing a huge buffet breakfast.

There’s no scales over here but last time I weighed myself I was still 48.5-49kg.

Yep I’ll be putting up a video or photos soon hopefully so stay tuned. I hope you are all happy & healthy! I just want to thank all the regular readers of this website too. It’s great having a little online support group of people who are interested in healthy weight loss! :)

“Whats this Bikini Model Program she keeps talking about?” – It’s a downloadable ebook available worldwide (I only test things available in every country). I’m testing it as part of my ‘Melissa Tests It’ blog posts. Written by fitness model and celebrity Jennifer Nicole Lee.

Ps: The photo was taken a few weeks ago with my new dslr camera (bought for this trip). I just don’t have any photos of the trip to put up so far so thought that picture was pretty cool!

HOLIDAY UPDATE
27th February 2011
Hi From Club Paradise

The site has been a bit quiet lately due to the limited internet access I have here in Palawan. I just thought I’d give a little update on whats been happening!

Well it’s almost impossible to eat healthily here but I have been doing my best. The resort is truly amazing, theres just one downside. Vegetarian food is quite unheard of. The only thing for guests to eat is a buffet breakfast, buffet lunch and buffet dinner. Not an ideal situation for a vegetarian trying to watch their weight. The only vegetarian food available on the buffet is rice, a small amount of salad and dessert. Or I could order a three cheese pizza from the snack menu. So the bikini model program isn’t going too well for me this week!

I’ve been trying to eat a big meal of cereal, omelette and rice at breakfast. Then for lunch I’ll eat two pieces of fruit (smuggled out at breakfast) and for dinner I order one plate of food from the buffet (so I don’t get tempted to overeat) and I steal a few bites of dessert from my boyfriend who usually gets the buffet. Yes very difficult aren’t I? Desperate times call for desperate measures lol.

For exercise I’ve been swimming and snorkelling everyday. The reef is gorgeous here and you can just walk in from the sand and see schools of fish, octopus and starfish.

Final Bikini Model Program Update & General Hello!

Hello everyone!

Just thought I’d give a little life update :)

Since returning from overseas I have been hitting the gym around 3-4 times a week and eating semi-healthy. I am not following the bikini model program as strictly as I was before going overseas! I have found a happy medium in my weight now with the help of the program! I know that if I want to lose weight and tone up I can just cut carbs out at night and use the recipes from the book. As its winter here now, I am usually covering up most of the time and eating pretty well overall.

MelissaJadeL

Out to dinner recently

Fruit and Veggie Juice

Fighting sugar cravings with Fruit & Veg Juice!

Weighing Portion Sizes

I’ve learned that to maintain a healthy lifestyle you need to practice portion control and try to balance things out. For example, last night I had my sisters over and we ate nachos & lemon tarts. Instead of being upset about the calorie consumption (we’ve all had that post calorie regret!) I am just focusing on eating extra well today and ensuring I don’t miss my workout. So tonight at 7:30pm I’ll be off to the gym to do some cardio while watching Masterchef, then hitting up the weights room and doing a leg workout!

Weight Loss

Vegetarian Chicken & Salad

If you’re looking for an amazing cardio workout, I cannot recommend skipping highly enough! It is ridiculous!

I had my first skipping sesh since returning from Asia and it was such a crazy workout! I only lasted 6 minutes and was more out of breath than after an hour at the gym.

Invest in a skipping rope ladies!

I have some bad news! My youtube account was deleted! I think it had something to do with me linking to my website because I cannot think of any other reason as to why. When I logged into my gmail account it said that there had been suspicious activity so I’m not sure if it had been hacked or what. It’s gone now and after emailing youtube I received a generic response saying that I violated the terms and I am not able to make a new account. I will make a new one and link it here eventually (hopefully it won’t be deleted). But in the meantime I have been using Vimeo to reupload all the videos!

Things have been a little bit busy with work since returning which is why posts have been sporadic. But now it’s winter so I’ll be less busy and there will be more posts :)

There will be more beauty related posts too, not necessarily just dieting.

FOR ALL VEGETARIANS!

I have some amazing news! I have recently noticed some new SOY FREE vegetarian products in Woolworths. The brand is called ‘Quorn’ and apparently its huge in the UK! I’ve tried all their stuff so far and I am so impressed. They are delicious and not too unhealthy either. Veggie mince is around $6 for 500g which isn’t too bad (not amazing value). It doesn’t have much taste on its own and I’ve found that by adding some taco seasoning it makes excellent taco mince!

Quorn Mince

This is the UK package I think, it's different in Aus :)

Wholegrain wrap, veggie mince, tomato, onion & salsa

Here’s the last video that I promised months ago! I had filmed the bikini part the night before leaving for my trip and hadn’t filmed an introduction until last week so FINALLY after months of waiting here is the FINAL Bikini Model Program update.

I have new hair too, not sure how I feel about it yet but here’s the vid!

Cheaper Alternative To The Bikini Model Program
24th April 2011

I’ve been receiving a few emails and comments concerning the price of the diet plan I recently tested out as part of the ‘Melissa Tests It’ blog posts (the bikini model program). I’ll be the first to admit that it is quite pricey!

I’m by no means made of money and I’ll admit to even being a bit of a scrouge. Or as my sisters call me ‘stingy’. Well…it’s hard to not be seen as stingy when you’re faced with endless bills. Living out of home is pretty expensive!! So yes, I definitely thought twice before buying the book! I did decide to try it out in the end because of that age old saying ‘You get what you pay for’. And I do think my progress and knowledge I’ve gained was worth the $127.

However, for some it is just too much money to justify spending on a diet plan. It’s been brought to my attention by a few lovely ladies that Jennifer Nicole Lee’s ‘Fitness Model Program‘ is a lot cheaper. I think it would be pretty similar and includes a few of the extras. It is also one of the top selling fitness books (like the bikini model program). So it’s a good alternative for those who want a proper diet & exercise regime at a lower price.

I’m thinking that because the Bikini Model Progam has a co-author that they had to put the price of the program up.

Here’s a little bit of a review I found on the Fitness Model Program by Jennifer Nicole Lee. The program starts at $49.95 for the basic edition and the deluxe edition is $79.97.

Fitness Model Program Overview

With a name like the Fitness Model Program, no one should be surprised that a fitness model created the program. The brains behind the program is Jennifer Nicole Lee, a fitness model who is also a ACE certified fitness trainer, fitness book writer and owns her own fitness and wellness empire, JNL, Inc.

Review of The Fitness Model Program (Not by me! Taken from the internet as I haven’t tried it personally)

Jennifer is well suited to creating the Fitness Model Program. The former Ms. Bikini America and Ms. Bikini Universe used to weigh over 200 pounds and has years of experience in physical training.
Bonuses offered with purchase include a look at how to kill cravings and a bikini boot camp program to blast fat and tone up muscle quickly.
The program is specifically catered to creating and building a toned feminine female physique. The Fitness Model Program is a plan that new mothers with excess baby weight to lose and women of all ages and fitness levels can follow.
The program is not only about weight loss. The focus on tanning, teeth whitening and make-up may help women feel better about their appearance as they lose weight and create the complete package.

How Does The Fitness Model Program Work?

The Fitness Model Program is available in two different editions, a basic edition for $49.95 and a deluxe edition for $79.95. The deluxe edition includes several additional bonus eBooks that focus on easy changes that will add up to weight loss, methods of jump starting weight loss and what to avoid when trying to lose weight. Jennifer advocates exercising for an hour for 4 to 6 days a week. All exercises can be done at home and only dumbbells, an exercise bench and a workout mat are needed. Nutrition is also a part of the program with a food plan formula, grocery list and recipes included. A section on time management will help women make the most of their time and fit exercise into their daily lives.

If you want to get fit, this fitness model may have some great workout advice for you. If you’re looking for an easy way out or a fad diet, one thing I respect is that she does not imply that you can get it easily!

Fitness Model Program Conclusion

Jennifer brings over 20 years of experience to the table and her eBook offers practical weight loss advice. Her focus on teaching women to manage their time and avoiding procrastination to reach their weight loss goals will help women get the sleek toned bodies they desire.

You are so inspiring! I just bought the Fitness Model Diet book =) I wanted to buy the Bikini Model Program, but it was a bit pricey, and the Fitness Model Diet book had a preview from what’s inside of it and it included recipes and workouts, so I got it =) I’m really excited to start! Thank you for posting about the Bikini Model Program! I’m really hoping that the one I just bought will work as well, but if it doesn’t, I may just have to spend the money and get the Bikini Model Program. I most likely would have gotten the book for that one, but it seemed to require you buy a lot more than just that haha. Anyways, I hope you’re doing well! Thank you again (=

What do you think will be you next ‘Melissa tests it’ experiment. Have you heard of “Jillian Michaels 30 day shred” or the harder “Jillian Michaels rotation”? Her workouts are killer. I’d love to join in with you on your next challenge. x

Hey girl Im Margaux from France! I just can’t believe you ve lost 7kg in only 2 weeks! Congrats! I used to be 49kg for 1m67 but I gained pounds when I went live in USA and I am now at 62kg.. it is so so bad! summer is coming and I really need to go down at 52kg! I go to the gym every day but I eat way too bad to loose. How many calories were you eating on this diet, like around 1000 ? I think that Im going to eat a lot of protein, what do you think about it?
Protein shake for breakfast ( 260cal for 42g protein) then a chicken breast for lunch then greek yogurt at 5 then Protein shake for diner.. I think Heidi Klum did this diet after her last pregnancy.. Anyways I really need to loose 10 kg as soon as possible. Do you think I can make it in one month?
Can you email me some tips that could help me to loose please! I know I can do it because I used to be 49kg at 18. By the way Im 20 now!!!

Again congrats for your weight lost!

Frenchie

Ash @ 7:38 pm #

I think appetite suppressants would be more interesting. Don’t fat binders have gross side affects? :P x

Hey Mel, I bought the program after seeing your second youtube update with the hopes of having the same results.

I just wanted to say thanks!! I was trying to lose weight for my cousins wedding and wanted to shock my family with how much weight I’d lost. It totally worked!

I lost 27lbs in 6 weeks and one of my cousins hardly recognised me. I hold a lot of weight in my face and look so much thinner now.

I’m going to continue following the program and have been stalking Jennifer Nicole Lee and your website religiously for more tips!

Thanks again!

Love your site btw :D

I’ve been on the program for 2 weeks and lost 7lbs so far! I really like how it gives options for takeout. I never knew what to order before and would just end up getting chips (I thought they were healthy? haha)

Are you still on the program Mel? Have you kept the weight off?

Hi Mel

I just checked and the bikini model program is the same price as the fitness model program now! I have really terrible willpower and cravings for sugar and carb. How did you manage mentally to stay on track for two whole months?

You look amazing btw

From another Mel

Melanie @ 11:42 am #

Hi Mel, I think i clicked on the wrong page and got a review of Fitness Model Program which was listed as the same price as Bikini Model program. I think the person reviewing the programs got it wrong. I have since clicked on the official page and you’re right! It’s cheaper =) phew.

Thanks for the advice…i am thinking of what would really motivate me now

Bree @ 10:56 am #

Hello :)
I have a question for Mel or anyone who has done the Bikini Model Program. I just bought it a few days ago and am doing my monday workout for the day. She says in the book that every day is about 45 minutes of working out. My weight routine only took about 20 minutes..and I was taking my time on each rep…is that about the same time that any of you were working out for on weight days? Or did you add in some cardio to achieve the awesome results you did?

Thank you in advanced!

-Bree

Hi!

I just found your site a couple of days ago and I love it! Tried to watch a couple of your bikini model videos though and it says that your account has been suspended…

May 25, 2011

Bree @ 12:54 am #

Hi Mel, thanks for replying :) .
I do 3 exercises per muscle group. So on monday that was a total of 6 exercises for 3 sets at 12 reps.

How long does it usually take you to get through it?

Bree @ 2:50 am #

Hey,

I stumbled upon your site about a month ago and ever since I have wanted to try the Bikini Model Diet. You were my modivation and your results are amazing!! Today I bought the Bikini Model program and am so excited to start it. I was just wondering, you made it sound so easy but wanted to know if at any point you thought about giving up because it was to hard or if you hit a plateau. Also what was your favourite snack and dinner meal during the diet?

Thanks heaps

Bree

Bree @ 6:35 am #

Yeah i just gota make sure im stick to it and not give into chocolate or potato chips lol

Also juts another question while I think of it, I know it says not to run during the diet but I was wondering if you ran at all while you were on it. Its weird because I when I think of loseing weight i relate it to running.

thanks heaps

Bree x

Sabrina @ 8:18 pm #

Hi Mel
I found your site about a month ago and was really impressed by the bikini model program. When I saw your toned body after doing this program I was really wondering what kind of exercises you did. Especially your abs are really tight. What kind of exercises did you do?? Just like sit-ups and crunches? Would be really grateful for some informations.
Thanks
Sabrina

Bree @ 8:54 pm #

Haha well goodness! I guess I need to slow down my reps. The weight is already pretty challenging, but I’ll try and see if I can add more :) . I’m taking about 15-30 second rests in between..so it looks like I may need to up the weight in order to need more rest perhaps.
I definitely am still sore the next day which is a good sign haha.
Thanks for the reply! Your results were awesome, so I needed to know if I was doing the program the same way :P .

May 26, 2011

Bree @ 12:11 am #

Hi Sasha! I started this program this week and was wondering if you had any tips for any of us who would like to see similar results? I have a birthday coming up in a little over 6 weeks and would love to lose 20+ lbs!

For some reason I feel like I’m GAINING weight in these first few days, did you experience that? Because it’s starting to freak me out haha.

Did you find any recipes useful during the program?

Thanks!
-Bree

Sasha @ 2:38 pm #

Hi Bree!

I can’t really think of anything that I’ve done differently other than follow the program.

It’s funny you mention you feel as though you are gaining weight. I felt the same too! It’s unusual eating so much food. Usually me on a diet means trying NOT to eat.
When I weighed myself I had lost weight, thank god!

I am in LOVE with the angel food cake recipe and for dinner I have been addicted to the chicken spinach salad with nuts & strawberries

Best of luck Bree! x

Hey Melissa, watching your videos has made me more excited about trying to loose weight, cos ive always been worried nothing is going to change about my body
i have a gym membership, but i rarely feel like getting up and actually going, and doing cardio for 30-40 minutes is so much. i dont know how to keep going for that long without giving up! My body is fairly similar to yours at the start of your diet. How do you keep all the excercise going?!
Thankyou, emily X

Hey Melissa

Thanks for answering my question. Yeah that’s right. Guess there are some abs hidden underneath my fat as well ;) Hopefully they’ll be visible soon. I’m 21 now and decided to change my lifestyle completly. Well I always wanted to be skinnier but never did the first step. Now it’s time ;) I’ll try something like the Bikini MOdel Program. Like eating 5 times a day, lots of protein and veggies, working out 4 times a week,… Hope this will help :)

Btw I’d love to go to Australia next year if possible (flights are really expensive). What places can you recommend?

Hi Melissa,
Thank you SO MUCH for posting these vids and all, you’ve been such an inspiration x) I just have a question: I went on the site and it said the program required “only 5″ pieces of equipment, and I’m wondering what equipment I would have to purchase? Thankyou xx

And congrats on your progress, Mel – I was like *shocked* at your results!

P.S. I’d really like to buy the program, but I’m only in my early teens. I think it’ll be okay, cause I’m not dramatically out of shape or anything, and if the workouts are too rigorous I guess I could complete less reps, etc.? Well, I just wanted to ask your opinion on this, since you’re going through it. Thanks Melissa XD

Hi Mel,
Thank you for answering my email. I have a question: how many days in week you do exercise and what kind of workouts did/do you do for your belly?
I am on my own “bikini-body-plan”, I should have the “Victoria’s Secret body” at the and of the May. :) haha, working hard and have good results, just my belly needs a little more work.
I have my motivational things and my diet for all this.
And your final results are cool. You did it! :) congratulations!

Miranda @ 3:33 pm #

Hey Mel, my plan is going really well, thanks. I increased cardio exercises and yoga. I do workouts every day, only resting that day when i have muscle sore, that day I just do 15 min. yoga.
Eating 1200- 1300 cal. healthy food and drinking water+apple cider vinegar and green tea.
How is your diet going?

Taylor @ 4:19 pm #

Hi Melissa, i want to do the bikini model program and i checked the website to buy it, but i cannot find it sold seperately and i really do not have the money to be getting the extra’s, do you know where i can get the book seperate? or anyway i can find out how i can start the diet so i have an idea? thankyou! love your site, its great! Hi Mel,

Great site!

I was wondering if you think this is the most sustainable, effective and healthy weight loss program you have been on?

I have tried several diets and am leaning towards the more organic types. Do you think this diet embodies nutrition and health?

I am very close to purchasing but hesitant as I have so many others: Bill Phillips Body for Life, Michelle Bridges ‘Loosing the last 5kgs’, Harley Pasternak ’5 Factor Fitness’ and I just recently purchased Clean & Lean by James Duigan, Elle MacPherson’s trainer which I am yet to read.

I have also started Jillian Michaels ’30 Day Shred’ which I noticed another post mention. It is great, you should give it a go!

I look forward to hearing from you. Thanks

Malene @ 8:29 am #

Did you do cardio more than 2 times a week?
Did you use the jumping rope additionally to the cardio, or as a part of the two times a week?

June 14, 2011

Lindsey @ 4:28 am #

DANG you are so inspiring! I can’t wait to try this diet plan!!!! Wow! How do you stay so motivated though?? I feel like im going to have a hard time eating only the totally healthy foods youre supposed to?

June 15, 2011

Tina @ 8:15 am #

I am wondering about the same thing!
If we are supposed to do 3 calves exercises – isn’t that a bit overkill?
Or are we supposed to do one calf exercise, one hamstring exercise and one leg exercise – which is a total of three. Or should we do three exercises on legs, calves and hamstring – which is a total of 9?
This day confuses me, since the only thing listet is “legs”. Do they count that as one muscle group?

Hi Mel,

I’m new to your site and really motivated by your results. I purchased the BMP too. In the book, Jennifer recommends not eating a complex carb at dinner but I noticed many of the dinner recipes have some sort of complex carb from tortilla wraps to couscous. Do you normally have a complex carb at dinner? Thank you!

Hi Mel,
About to start the BMP and eating 5 meals a day looks like soooooo much food. Did you really have 5 meals a day? Like 2 snacks and 3 meals? What were your fav snacks to have during the diet?

Cheers! You look amazing!

Hi Mel,
I came across your website two weeks ago and I think it is amazing what you do here, you really gave me the motivation I needed to kick start my healthy diet to get bikini ready :) I had one question though and it was that I was wondering when you would have your protein shakes? What meal would you replace and how often. Thank you and hope to hear from you soon :)

Hey Mel,

I love your site and really appreciate all the work you do keeping everyone updated on various diets/nutrition info. Anyway, I was thinking about purchasing the Bikini Model Diet program and was curious to know if the program is vegetarian-friendly? Also, does the program give you a regimented meal-plan or is it more flexible?

Thanks!

Hey Melissa!

I absolutely love your blog and your progress is amazing! I’m getting married next spring so I decided to get a jumpstart on my fitness plan for the wedding and do the bikini model program? I have a few questions though about what you did:

1) Did you only do cardio on two days?
2) For dinner in one part of the book they mention omitting a starchy carb, but a lot of the dinner recipes include quinoa, or rice, etc. Did you follow the meals as they are written, except for making vegetarian alternatives?

Thanks!

Célia @ 8:39 pm #

Hello,
My name is Célia, I am 20 years old and I am French.
I have been fighting with my weight all my life and the diet you tried just seems extraordinary. I want to try it so bad ! The only problem is I don’t have 127 dollars to spend. Do you think you could make my dream come true by sending it to me ?
Also one thing I won’t forget : not doing more than 45 minutes of cardio. I was always told that it was the minimum. Now I am going to cut down on it. :) Thank you so much for your review !

Connie @ 10:53 pm #

Hi Mel,
I was just wondering, what were your favorite snacks to have whilst on the program as I have recently bought it and find the snacks to be a bit confusing! Also, I find there is some conflicting information on a few of the foods involved and I wanted to ask did you measure out your food in cup sizes and ounces or just have as much as you felt like? Other than that I just want to say your blog is amazing, you’re gorgeous and I am completely envious of the body you have from this program! I really hope it works for me too, fingers crossed!
Thankyou!

August 4, 2011

Laura @ 7:02 pm #

you really are very inspiring… i lost 11 kg last year, and then gained 2 kg back.. now i still wanna lose 5 so i’ll be down to 48. How tall are you anyway? and by the way, you have got an amazing body!

Bre @ 4:42 am #

I just wanted to thank you for putting up this fantastic site :) lol, at first I was a little skeptic, seeing as how it seems like nothing is truly genuine these days, but your personal work and progress has inspired me to try it :)

Janet @ 8:06 pm #

Hi Mel,

Thank you for documenting your weight loss for us. I bought the ebook after seeing your results. Are you still following the same weight training program? Hope you are having a great weekend!

August 8, 2011

Mena @ 12:43 pm #

Hey Melissa,
I’m from Germany and found your videos in the internet. I’m very impressed what you did! Thank you so much for putting up this site:) you’ve got an amazing body! Are you still doing the diet?
have a great weekend:) and thank you!!

Gina @ 3:18 pm #

Hi Mel!

Your progress is very motivational! I can’t really afford the program but I’m following the health/exercise tips to try to get in shape. We’ll see how it goes. :)

It seems that in your program you were not “allowed” to run for the reasons you just posted, but in an earlier post you encouraged us to skip; but isn’t this just the same?
I’d be happy to add some skipping to my routines, but maybe it’s not such a good idea?

I’d love to hear your thoughts on this, and if skipping was mentioned in your program.

Thank you very much!

Nana @ 6:56 am #

Hi Mel,

I would like to ask where i can buy this book.
I still live in Thailand (Pattaya), i was really impressed and i would like to do it.

thx

Mena @ 6:33 pm #

very cool.. I admire you for this.. I’m not really disciplined but I really really want to do a diet.. was the book translated in german, do you know this? xx

Gina @ 8:10 pm #

Hi Mel, thanks for your reply!

I was wondering about this because skipping is kind of the same as running –> in place… (or maybe I’m wrong?)
Anyway, it is more practical for me, as I’m a little shy about running outside, and it gets me moving, which is better than nothing. :) I find that it’s a good change, it adds variety to a workout or to a workout program.
But I’m still curious as to why skipping but no running. ;) Any insight?

Thanks and good luck to everyone trying the program!

Hi,
I recently purchased the diet, how often did you have the splurge snacks a week? what were some of your cheat meals on a Sunday? also did you ever cut out the rice or wraps at night because it says not to have carbs at night but than the receipes have carbs in them?
Thank you, you did awesome on the diet.

I was about to try the bikini model program but since the videos were originally posted almost a year ago, I was wondering if you have found any other diets that you have liked better or if you still recommend the bikinimodelprogram? thanks!

Hey Melissa!

I bought this program in July, but I have such a hard time stick with the diet because of visiting my family, dinners out, etc. I am going on a cruise in December and I really want to tone up. How did you stick with your diet and still do social events, especially around the holidays?

Thanks! Your results are so inspiring! I’d love to be in such great shape by December!

Hi Melissa,

Your results were so inspiring I went and bought the bikini model program :) I was just wondering if you understood how to do the exercise with the stick behind your head that she mentions in the bikini boot camp PDF?

I’m really confused about the way she’s explained it….

Thanks! :)

Chloe,
I think JNL is referring to oblique twists, which is where you put a long wooden stick across your shoulders holding each of the ends, and twisting from side to side. It stretches and tones your obliques.

Dear Mel,
I have been visiting your site and have been watching your videos.
I wanna say that you look great after the diet but I think you look your best after week 4 (in the strapless bikini).
Could you tell me how much you lost during the diet?
For some reason, I cannot watch the first video so I don’t know how much you weighed before starting the diet.
I feel inspired after watching your videos, and am planning to go on a diet with my best friend :)
I wish you could give me or rather us some tips as our main problem is that we are emotional eaters :(
It’s not like we are over-weight or anything, but we wanna get fit in time for Christmas.
Thank you and keep up the great work.

Hi Melissa,

Your videos are VERY encouraging. Can you tell me how much you worked out per week on a good week? Meaning, when you had the time to work out, what did a good workout day look like. Also You mentioned the Hydroxy Phase Protein in one of your videos, did you like it? How did it compare to the others and did it really help control your appetite? By the way your hair color looks great with your complexion.

Hi Melissa!

My name is Ali and I have been looking at your blog for the past couple days! I’m super interested in starting the Bikini Model program. I’m 5’3″ and about 123lbs :( I would love to go down to at least 109lbs. I noticed that you were about my size when you started the diet and you lost what I would want to lose! My concern is spending the $127 and it not work for me. Do the books tell you all the information you need? I would definitely want something very informative because I’m so ready to start losing weight! I guess I’m just scared to start something a fail at it…how would I go about buying the book and it there just one book I can buy or do I have to buy the whole set? Thank you so much for taking your time to read this! You have totally inspired me because you have a rockin body!

Alicia @ 5:35 am #

Hi Mel,

I would like to say as a person in her thirties who has had two kids, that you should enjoy your young unstretched body. It was nice and would have had guys looking before you did the diet. Eating healthy is really good I am a big believer in healthy eating. Just don’t magnify every tiny figure flaw you see nobody else looks at you as critically as you look at yourself. Enjoy being young and beautiful and realize that you are. You have youth once and it is hard to prolong if you’re not a celebrity. Don’t spend it being insecure that is what I did it is a huge mistake! And take heaps of pictures of yourself even if you don’t like pictures they nice to show your kids and to look at yourself when you get older.

Regards
Alicia

ps. Men are insecure so they rarely give compliments they don’t want their girl to get a ‘big head’ and think she can do better.
