The Top Fad Diets
With the Average American reeling under his/her own weight, a number of weight loss programs and dieting schedules have entered the arena; each one claiming to be the best weight loss option.
You start up with a lot of enthusiasm and pretty soon, you give up, simply because, you get bored of doing the same things over and over again. So, you quit the schedule and sit down loathing yourself. Then you have another fad diet appearing from nowhere and voila! You have another diet chart to follow.
As it is, there have been a number of fad diets, which have appeared and faded away in due course of time. Some of them, were very popular, in their times. Today, I am going to list you some of the most common fad diets, to date.

The Grapefruit Diet
It was in 1930, when the grapefruit diet came into limelight and soon came to be known as the Hollywood diet. It soon became very popular and ruled the diet charts of many fitness regimes between the 1930′s and the 1980′s. However, in the 1980′s itself a number of nutrition experts, began voicing concerns about the authenticity of the grapefruit diet in weight loss.
As it is, opinions vary when it comes to a grapefruit diet. Some say, that a grapefruit diet is an excellent way of losing weight, whereas others dismiss it as another fad. However, recent studies have come up with facts, which are in favor of the grapefruit; and have revealed, that, grapefruit is indeed helpful in reducing weight to a large extent. As it is grapefruit is a citrus fruit and by virtue of being rich in citric acid, it can indeed improve the metabolism process and hence reduce weight.
The Cabbage Soup Diet
The cabbage soup diet plan is often referred to as the fastest weight loss program in recent times. It is basically a seven day diet plan and unlike popular belief, it is only for seven days a stretch and not more than that. The cabbage soup diet plan is actually a freaky combination of foods which help you in losing a lot of weight in a very short period of time.
The cabbage soup diet plan is a low calorie diet plan, which helps in burning more calories, than what it actually contains. The cabbage soup diet is a quick way of losing weight. However, it only works for a week. After that you can move over to your usual diet loss schedule.
Raw Food Diet
Raw food can actually work wonders for you, in the same way, as it has done for many people. Apart from providing you with many health benefits, raw food is excellent in terms of a weight loss program.
However, a major drawback of raw food is that, you can not incorporate raw beef, fish or chicken in your diet. As a result you are deprived of a lot many animal proteins. Apart from that, there is also, the danger of a number of harmful bacteria and viruses, entering your body, through raw food. These bacteria and viruses otherwise get killed in the process of cooking.
Fad diets may come and go; but nothing could ever beat the good old natural way of losing weight.
