Ugh! Not Another Hollywood Diet Pill….

Posted on 17 April 2008 by Mel

Victoria Beckham Skinny.jpgI’ve received a few tip offs that a few of the tiny celebs (for legal reasons I cannot name them…all I can say is they are sisters who have recently lost a lot of weight) have been using a new diet pill called alli. Apparently it works by blocking 25% of the fat you eat. This pill is going to be the next hoodia. The worst thing is it is so easily accessible. This is the first time an FDA approved weight loss drug can be bought over the counter. I just hope that girls suffering from eating disorders don’t get hold if it. Hopefully there are some rules in place for who can buy it.

I think its similar to xenical (orlisat) which you need a prescription for. It seems to be working on the two that are rumored to be taking it.

The following information on the pill is taken from the website http://www.gotalli.com

alli blocks about 25% of the fat you eat

Typically, enzymes in your intestines break down fat from food so your body can absorb the fat. But the active ingredient in alli attaches to some of these enzymes and prevents them from digesting about a quarter of the fat you eat. Because undigested fat can’t be absorbed, it passes out of your body instead of turning into calories.

dose alli have side affects?

The main side effect occurs when you eat a meal with too much fat while taking alli. If so much fat is blocked that your stool can’t absorb it, you might have side effects. Because they are not harmful, we call them "treatment effects." These include loose or more frequent stools, an urgent need to go to the bathroom, or gas with an oily discharge. The excess fat that passes out of your body is in no way harmful. In fact, you may recognize it as something that looks like the oil on top of a pizza. Treatment effects can be lessened if you stick to reduced-calorie, low-fat meals that average 15 grams of fat per meal.

Guess Who The Celeb Sisters Are!

Actually, Alli will only work when fatty foods are consumed.
If people are eating salads, there is nooooooooo use for taking this pill.
Besides, it is only for people who eat normal and are not afraid of consuming carbs and such.
I have tried it in the past and it does not work unless there’s an obesity issue!
And it does not make them shed pounds!

actually ive been taking these. the side effects are only bad if you consume more than the calories they have listed… which is somewhere around 1,600 i think, not sure… id have to get the booklet out. i dont take them religously but i take them when i eat… they seem to work

How old do you have to be to be able to take the alli diet pill?

Hi, I take Alli when I know I will be eating a meal with more calories than I’d like to consume, like pizza. It works by not letting you digest about 1/4 of the fat in your meal but 2 days later you will see where that fat has gone! You can have nasty side effects if you eat a very high fat meal with these (leaking of undigesteed fat) and when you go to the toilet you will see the undigested fat as an orange coloured oil. Not nice but at least you know it’s working!
